Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Damage

Residents reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coast.

Tomorrow was forecast to be the most rainy day, with ongoing severe weather risk expected across different parts of both states.

Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
